Millbuies Saturday League

Event Summary

Our Saturday League Event at Millbuies Country Park will include the annual Moravian Club awards.

Millbuies Country Park contains some impressive mature larch trees that stand out amongst other conifers lining the slopes above the man-made fishery loch. The area has a number of paths and tracks which can offer great views of the Moray Firth. It also has planted rhododendrons and azaleas which will be colourful in the spring.  Sadly, the recent storms have brought down a number of trees which Moray Council has removed from paths and tracks.  The courses have been planned to avoid the worst of the affected areas, though competitors may still encounter brashings and windblow on their runs.

At the event, there will also be an outdoor awards presentation for the Club's prizes winners and league winners for 2021.  The presentation will take place from around 12:45pm and it would be great for as many members as possible to support.  There will be a tent provided at assembly, so competitors can leave clothing and a change of clothes after their runs.

Directions and Parking

Directions.   From the North, take the A941 out of Elgin towards Rothes.  Millbuies Country Park will be signed left off the A941 at Fogwatt.  From the South, take the A941 towards Elgin.  Millbuies Country Park will be signed right off the A941 at Fogwatt.

Parking.   With the recent wet weather, the following car parking arrangements have had to be made.  Unfortunately, the field adjacent to the Millbuies Car Park remains too wet to use without causing damage.

  • Millbuies Country Park Car Park.  Competitors with juniors, and volunteers, may park their vehicles at the Millbuies Country Park Car Park.   If this car park is full, then you have the option to drop juniors off before parking your car at the other parking location (see below). The Club will not have exclusive access to this car park, and other park visitors may be parking there as well, so we would ask that competitors only park there if you really need to and cannot park at the Fogwatt Hall car park.
  • Fogwatt Hall Car Park.   All other competitors are requested to park vehicles at the Fogwatt Hall car park, immediately off the A941 at Fogwatt.  The route to assembly from this car park will be taped and is approximately 750m.  Please allow 10-15 minutes to walk.
No Toilets are available at Millbuies. The nearest toilets are in Elgin at the Asda Superstore.

Start and Finish

The start and finish locations will be in the assembly field.

Please do not arrive at assembly (where the start is located) more than 20 minutes before your start block to minimise gathering of competitors at the start.
